Tribute to Dmitry Borisov, the Head of Equal Right To Life
We regret to inform that Dmitry Borisov, our friend, colleague, leader and ideological inspirer of the patient advocacy organizations Equal Right to Life, Movement against Cancer and the Center for Personalized Medicine, passed away at the age of 49.
He devoted his life to healthcare and the fight against cancer and was at the grassroots of patient advocacy public organizations in Russia, building an open dialogue between interests of patients and country authorities. Under his leadership and with his direct participation Russian patients received an access to the new and effective anticancer drugs that saved hundreds of thousands of lives. In 2005, he was the first to formulate the idea and goals of the national oncological program, which made the basis for the adopted on a country level The Federal Anticancer Program in 2018. In the last few years of his life he had been contributing to the implementation of innovative effective technologies for cancer treatment to the russian market.
Due to his experience, knowledge, determination and high ethical principles, Dmitry Borisov was an inspiration and role model for his friends, colleagues and many people around. In his life and work he always put PEOPLE in the first place.
We express condolences to the family and friends, to everyone who knew and loved Dmitry Borisov. The bright memory will remain in our hearts forever.
