Russian Ministry of Health established new time limits for patient visits

The order of the Russian Ministry of Health has entred into force, which establishes the standards of time during which the physician should see the patient, TASS conveys a statement of the ministry press service.

The order of the Russian Ministry of Health has entred into force, which establishes the standards of time during which the physician should see the patient, TASS conveys a statement of the ministry press service.

According to the Ministry of Health, "the list of standard time allowance is advisory in nature and is intended to determine the need for medical personnel in the context of preparation and economic substantiation of territorial programs of state guarantees for provision citizens of free medical care to Russian citizens at the level of administrative units of the Russian Federation."

In this regard, these norms shall be adapted to each specific medical organization. According to the document, the time allowance per visit for a pediatrician or an internist is 15 minutes, general practitioner — 18, neurologist — 22, otolaryngologist — 16, ophthalmologist — 14 and gynecologist — 22. These time frames include the time to fill out medical documents.

The duration of follow-up visits to medical specialists is set at the level of 70–80% of time allowed for the initial visit.
