Since May 1, 2012 it will be easier to receive a disability status
The Russians, who are injured at work or suffer occupational diseases, since May 1, 2012 will not have to collect numerous certificates to confirm their disability status; corresponding amendments were made to the laws on social protection of population by the Government Decree No. 218, published recently in the newspaper “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”.
Previously, the employee had to submit the report concerning accident at workplace or occupational disease to Federal Labor and Employment Service (Rostrud), Federal Service on Surveillance in Healthcare and Social Development of Russian Federation (Roszdravnadzor) and Russian Federal Service for Ecological, Technical and Atomic Supervision (Rostekhnadzor). Now these agencies will request necessary documents from each other through electronic document management system. In addition, the examination for establishing the extent of loss of capacity for work is now available at medical and social assessment institutions; it was previously prohibited.
The procedure for the provision of guide dogs will also be simplified. Previously, to get this service, it was necessary to bring the certificate for compulsory pension insurance. Now, officials will request information about the certificate from the Pension Fund.
