On September 12 Primorye will host Patients’ School dedicated to lymphoproliferative diseases

On September 12, at 11:00, at Regional Clinical Hospital No. 2 of Vladivostok Patients’ School will be held dedicated to the topic: “Special features of diagnosis and treatment lymphoproliferative diseases. Psychological aspects of the rehabilitation of patients with lymphoproliferative diseases.”

Patients’ School is a free educational outreach event organized by interregional public movement “Movement Against Cancer” with support of non-profit partnership “Equal Right to Life”. It is open to patients, their families, and all who are interested in up-to-date information about the disease.

Cancer is the second leading cause of mortality for population of Russian after cardiovascular diseases. Each year more than 500,000 Russians are first diagnoses with cancer. In Primorye Territory, the level of cancer incidence is high for many years, and it continues to grow. According to statistics, the number of cancers in the region over the last 10 years has increased by about 20%.

“Patients’ School” will help to obtain up-to-date information on the diagnosis and treatment of lymphoproliferative disorders, methods of psychological support and rehabilitation of patients, as well as legislation regulating the rights of cancer patients.

Participants will listen to chief expert in hematology of Health Department of Primorye Territory, hematologist of Hematology Department at Regional Hospital No. 2, cand. med. sci. Sergey Konstantinovich Dubov, psychologist of Primorye Cancer Center Evgeniya Valerievna Komova, legal expert of Primorye branch of IPM "Movement Against Cancer" Natalia Vladimirovna Nosyreva, and representative of Primorye branch of IPM "Movement Against Cancer" Lyudmila Mikhailovna Litvinenko.

After the lecture participants will have an opportunity to ask questions to experts and receive useful advice on particular cases.

“Patients’ School” will be held in the assembly hall of Hematology Department of Regional Clinical Hospital No. 2 at: Vladivostok, Russkaya Street, 55.
